AI that answers from your policies, not the open internet.
Retrieval-augmented generation connects the latest AI models to your own knowledge base, so answers are based on your documents, policies, and records. Run a Compliance AI built on RAG entirely inside your network, with the same guardrails as every other model in the portal.
- Knowledge base indexed inside your Azure tenant
- Answers traceable to the source document
- DLP, access control, and logging still apply
- Excluded from model training

Open Models
Retrieve the right internal content first, then answer from it.
RAG models look up your own content before the AI responds, so answers reflect your policies and procedures instead of whatever the model happened to learn in training.
Connect your own documents
Point RAG models at your policies, manuals, and records, so the AI answers from your authoritative content, not generic training data.
Fewer hallucinations, more citations
Grounding answers in retrieved source material keeps responses accurate and traceable back to the document they came from.
Your data stays in your network
RAG models run inside your Microsoft Azure tenant. The knowledge base and every query stay within your secure network.
A purpose-built Internal model
Offer a Compliance AI (RAG) model alongside ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot, tuned to your internal compliance content from day one.
Configure without a new pilot
The multi-model architecture lets you stand up and adjust custom and RAG models without a separate pilot for each one.
Excluded from model training
The content you retrieve over and the prompts you send are excluded from model training across all AI providers.
How a RAG model works in the portal.
The same secure path as every other assistant, with your knowledge base added in front of the model.
Most useful where the answer lives in a document.
Grounded answers matter most in work that depends on your own policies, procedures, and records. These banking solutions are good places to start.
Your own models, under the same roof.
RAG models and custom assistants sit alongside commercial models in one portal, so your vendor-management, security, and compliance teams oversee them the same way.
RAG models: FAQ
Straight answers for CIOs, CISOs, and compliance officers evaluating AI.
Talk to usWhat is a RAG model?
RAG stands for retrieval-augmented generation. Before the AI answers a question, it retrieves the most relevant content from your own knowledge base, such as policies, manuals, and records, and answers from that content. Responses reflect your own documents instead of generic training data or the open internet.
Where does our knowledge base live?
Inside your Microsoft Azure tenant. Your documents are indexed there, never copied to a third-party service, and every query stays within your secure network.
Does RAG reduce hallucinations?
Grounding answers in retrieved source material keeps responses more accurate and traceable back to the document they came from. Your staff can check the source rather than taking the answer on trust, which matters when the answer concerns policy or procedure.
Who can query a RAG model?
You decide. Per-assistant access control determines who can query which RAG model, so, for example, a compliance knowledge base can be limited to the people who should see it.
Do DLP and logging still apply?
Yes. A RAG model follows the same secure path as every other assistant in the portal. DLP filtering and redaction still apply, and every RAG interaction is logged and risk-scored like any other prompt.
Is our content used to train AI models?
No. The content you retrieve over and the prompts you send are excluded from model training across all AI providers.
